Playable Races: Every race and faction you own in Warhammer 1 and Warhammer 2, including any DLC you own for either game. So basically Warhammer Warhammer "Europe, North and South America, Africa and 'Atlantis.' As you can imagine, it's rather large. It allows you to play a campaign across a map that covers much of the area covered by Warhammer 1's Old World campaign and Warhammer 2's Vortex campaign.
Mortal Empires is a free-DLC available for Warhammer 2 if you also own Warhammer 1. So you get to play that specific faction within the race, but you don't get the rest of that race from Warhammer 1. With the ones I've marked expedition you're basically playing a specific Legendary Lord who has journey far from their home. Playable Races: High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Skaven, Bretonnia (Repanse - expedition) and with paid DLC Tomb Kings, Vampire Coast, Empire (Markus Wulfheart - expedition.) Warhammer 2 is Warhammer "North and South America, Africa and 'Atlantis,'" and is occupied by the Warhammer races that in that part of the world, plus more recently some expeditionary forces from Warhammer "Europe," see below. Playable Races: Empire, Dwarves, Greenskins, Vampire Counts, Bretonnia, and with paid DLC Chaos Warriors, Beastmen, Wood Elves, and Norsca. Warhammer 1 is Warhammer "Europe," and is occupied by the Warhammer races that live in that part of the world. However they can also be combined to make an even bigger game through the Mortal Empires Free-DLC. I find the easiest way to understand it all is to think of it in terms of real world geography.įirst thing to understand Warhammer 1, Warhammer 2 and the eventual Warhammer 3 are each self contained games set in different parts of the Warhammer globe.
